Heat Advisory Extended; Another Air Quality Alert

A Heat Advisory is in effect for all of North Texas. The advisory will remain in effect until 7 pm Saturday for highs of 102 to 104 and a heat index as high as 105 to 109. Also, the area is under another Air Quality Alert for your Friday.

The hot weather will last all through the weekend before a weak summertime cold front slips into the area Sunday night. The front may bring spotty thunderstorms Sunday night into Monday. In addition, temperatures will drop back to near normal levels in the low to mid 90s for a couple of days.

In the meantime, be prepared for hot weather. Make sure you stay hydrated, check on the elderly, and take care of your pets.
